Rubber Magnolias??? What in the world?…you may be thinking. Let me tell you! The Rubber Magnolias are the wonderful women in my downline. They are my team and most importantly my incredibly talented and creative friends who bless me in more ways than they will ever know! (and there is always room for more….click Join My Team above for more info!) The name comes from that wonderful Southern movie “Steel Magnolias” as we are all located here in the Southern U.S.
We chose to do a swap with the new catalog that came out. Each person chose their stamp set and I set the parameters to- make three different cards with your set, include one that is simple stamping (just stamps, ink, and paper), and try to use as many stamps in the set as you can! Today, I wanted to share those swaps with you and hope that you find some inspiration just as I have. (please keep in mind that my downline members may have CASED someone else and I do not have that information to offer credit- sorry.)
Beautiful World Collection-
I just LOVE the masculine feel to this whole collection! Cheryl Burleson did a fantastic job with these!! The simple stamping card is on the right with the strips of DSP. I also love the fancy fold idea on the far left with the Brass foil paper which is luscious.
Arrange a Wreath Collection-
Dee-Ann Henderson really got creative with these cards! From the crinkled paper layer on the left, the standing easel card in the middle, and the creative use of the stamps in the corners on her simple stamping version on the right. I LOVE them all!
Celebrate Sunflowers Collection-
I LOVE the variation of artistic style in these cards. The use of different punches and the Andy Warhol effect are just outstanding. Beautifully done, Pam Kroeger!! Don’t you just love that huge sunflower image??!!
Birds and Branches Collection-
I will be honest- when I first saw this set, I wasn’t too sure about it. But, Karon Brown has made me see the light!!! I LOVE the two-step stamping and those coordinating dies. The simple stamping version on the right immediately caught my eye as it looks way more complicated than it actually is. The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set. The card on the far left features the A Grand Kid stamp set which is a must have for all proud grandparents!
Tasteful Touches Collection-
These are my personal contribution to the swap and I had a ton of fun exploring the versatility of the In Good Taste suite. The top right card is my simple stamping card featuring the new In Colors! The one on the bottom left is a bonus that I only made one of….can you guess why? The bottom right card is a layout CASED from the catalog on page 44. This is a great suite for masculine and feminine projects!
Prized Peony Collection-
One of my wonderful downline members was unable to participate in the swap this time, but we decided as a team to bless her by making her cards for her and sharing! These cards are the result and I just LOVE this whole suite as well!!!! The top right card is the simple stamping one. Top middle card features the gorgeous Peony dies and it doesn’t hurt that they are shades of purple which is my favorite color! The bottom card is a bonus that I made using the Ornate Layers dies and Stampin Blends to color. The artwork in these stamps is stunning all by itself and then you add color and WHAM!- a face full of gorgeousness!!!
I hope you enjoyed browsing through our swaps! May your day be blessed with time to craft and create something of your own-
Happy Stamping and Rubber Hugs,
