I am unashamedly a cat person. Between my hubby and I, we have had over 20 cats in our lives! Along with that love and care inevitably comes the goodbye at the end. And the loss of a furbaby can be quite an emotional ordeal. With that in mind and the beautiful sentiment in the new Pampered Pets stamp set, I created these cards-
I LOVE this suite and it has so many fun images of cats and dogs in it. However, there wasn’t an image that was…well sad enough. So I turned to the Cat Punch. It lends generic enough for any kitty. And because of the sentiment “Always in your heart…” , I reached for my Stitched Be Mine dies to cut out the heart shape. After cutting out the heart, I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the scalloped frame around it.
The process started with the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. Cinnamon Cider is a beautiful new In Color in it, so I decided to use that as the base color. The paper coordinates with Real Red, but I thought it was too bright, so I went with Cherry Cobbler instead. My first version looks like this-
With all of the pieces laid out, I decided I wanted to try a darker background in the heart and a lighter kitty. So I switched to this one-
I love them both, but tend to like this one better as the cat really pops. Now, I was trying to figure out what to do with the two hearts I had cut out before…… so I did this on the inside of the card-
I hope you enjoyed this card and it will work perfectly with the Dog Punch as well. May you not need to make one of these any time soon, but you could make a dog and a cat one to have on hand when the time comes that you need one.
Happy Stamping and Rubber Hugs,
